Babel
The Bible talks a lot about Babylon, but we do not know much about the tower of Babel, which the people started building when the people moved from where the ark rested after the flood. They build a high tower because they wanted to be safe in case there was another flood. They became wicked and most of them forgot about God. But the Lord wanted them to spread over the earth and did not want them all in one city like they were doing, so God made their language to be confused, so that some could not understand each other. Someone at the top of the tower would ask for one thing and the wrong thing would be brought, and this made them mad at one another. Those who could understand each other started to move off to other places. Only a few remembered that God was in control.
